The day I decided that I was no longer going to "work for the man" and become my own boss was a liberating day indeed. However, in those early days of small business ownership, I was not as organised as I should have been. Luckily, a friend introduced me to her accountant who was able to give me a tonne of advice about all things tax-related. From superannuation contributions for my employees to the information I needed for my BAS return, I learned a lot about the financial side of owning a company.
